The counterintuitive rule first: do not drain the pool. A full pool is heavy and stable; an empty shell in saturated Palm Coast ground can lift. The water is protecting the structure.

Before a named storm: drop the level a few inches if heavy rain is coming, kill power to the equipment at the breaker, and get furniture and loose objects out of the enclosure, because the screen survives wind far better than it survives a lounger thrown through it. After: clear debris, restore power, and expect the chemistry to need a hard reset. If water got into the equipment pad, have it checked before running anything.
